Should Dermal Filler Treatments be Undetectable?

Here at The Derma Clinic we think so!! Luckily the rise of over filled faces has slowed down and many patients are opting for reversals of their previous filler treatments, opting for a less is more approach.

Dermal filler treatments really should be natural and blend effortlessly with your natural contours so that you look fresh faced and youthful without that telling ‘pillow face’ appearance that we all too often see when patients become ‘filler blind’.

Now a lot of our patients are apprehensive when taking the plunge into dermal fillers. Due in part to social media offerings of ‘botched’ work and over filled faces. Yet you really can have several syringes of filler at one time and in remain beautifully natural - when you pick a skilled injector that will work in harmony with your natural features.

We would never fill the delicate lip area with more than one syringe at a time however, full face rejuvenation can be executed using multiple syringes and quite literally take 10 years off!

I feel that expectations are often clouded due to so many bad treatments, and it’s really important you have a full, thorough and honest consultation with your chosen injector before treatment.

For example - if you have significant volume loss to the midface you will most certainly be disappointed if you opt for 1ml of filler as the results may be too subtle to restore missing volume, depending on the amount of structural support that may be needed.

However, if you don’t have significant volume loss and book in for 3-4ml of filler for the midface this will almost certainly leaving you looking over filled.

Dermal filler treatments are incredibly individual and whilst we offer full facial enhancement using multiple syringes, this doesn’t mean it’s suitable for all patients! so please bare in mind your own expectations. The right practitioner will only ever give you honest guidance when it comes to budget, amount of filler required to achieve you desired outcome and how many sessions may be required. Remember dermal filler treatments are a journey and when you’re ready to start yours, we’re here to help xx
